About this assessment

This short assessment helps you understand how you currently use AI in your work. Not just whether you use it, but how strategically and effectively. This is not a performance assessment. There are no pass or fail outcomes. Your results provide a snapshot of your current AI use patterns and a suggested development pathway tailored to your profile.

Please try to accurately reflect your practice. Your first instinct is usually your most honest one, so do not dwell too long on any question. Answer based on what you actually do, not what you think you should be doing.

The assessment contains 9 questions and should take no more than 5 to 8 minutes to complete. Your results will appear instantly once you submit and will cover four areas: capability tier, behavioural persona, use profile, and platform context.

Current AI usage patterns
Question 1 of 9
Task-Based Allocation

Thinking about your work over the last month, distribute 100 points across these activities based on where AI tools contribute to your role. Allocate more points to areas where you use AI frequently or for significant work. If you have not used AI for a particular activity, enter 0. Your total must equal 100 points.

Work ActivityPoints (0-100)
Writing and document creation (reports, briefs, emails, proposals)
Data analysis and synthesis (interpreting information, identifying patterns)
Research and information gathering (researching new data, finding sources, summarising content)
Meeting and communication support (agendas, minutes, notes, follow-ups)
Planning and strategic thinking (ideation, problem-solving, scenario analysis, developing future needs)
Quality assurance (reviewing, editing, fact-checking)
Learning and development (discovering how AI works, understanding new concepts, skill building)
Administrative efficiency (scheduling, formatting, routine tasks)
Not currently using AI for work tasks (select 100 here if this applies)
Total allocated0 / 100

Interaction sophistication
Question 2a of 9
How do you typically engage with AI?

Select all the approaches you have typically used in the last month. Be honest. There is no right answer. Select as many as apply.

Question 2b of 9
Primary approach

Of the approaches above, which is your most common method? Select only one. Your default or primary way of engaging with AI.

How you work with AI
Question 3a of 9
Work scenario approaches

For each situation below, select the response that most closely matches what you would actually do, not what you think you should do. There are no right or wrong answers. Select one option per scenario.

Scenario 1. You need to develop a detailed proposal for a significant new piece of work your organisation is considering. How do you approach using AI?
Scenario 2. A senior colleague has asked you to review and challenge the assumptions behind a proposed approach to an organisational problem. How do you use AI?
Scenario 3. Your organisation has issued a new detailed policy that you need to fully understand in order to support a project you are working on and what it means in practice. How do you use AI to help you work through it?
Question 3b of 9
Usage frequency

Thinking specifically about the last month, how often have you used AI in each of these ways?

Using AI to critique or challenge your work
You produce something, AI identifies weaknesses, gaps, or flawed assumptions
Asking AI focused questions to extract specific information
You know what you need, you query systematically until you have it

Development priorities
Question 4 of 9
Where would better support most improve your AI effectiveness?

You have 100 points representing potential training and support investment. Distribute them across the areas where better support would most improve your AI effectiveness. Allocate more to areas where you need most help. Total must equal 100 points.

Support AreaPoints (0-100)
Practical examples for my specific role or domain
Prompt engineering techniques
Platform comparison guidance
Output evaluation (knowing when AI is wrong or unreliable)
Advanced interaction strategies
Integration workflows (incorporating AI into existing processes)
Ethical and security considerations
Time-saving tactics for common tasks
Confidence building (overcoming hesitation or uncertainty)

Platform usage
Question 5 of 9
Which AI platforms have you used for work in the last 3 months?

Select all that apply.

Question 6 of 9
